Edinburgh Fringe and Tattoo

The Edinburgh Fringe is a world renowned celebration of arts and culture – just on our doorstep – www.edfringe.com. You can stay with us, in beautiful peaceful countryside with fabulous views (weather permitting!) – yet with easy access to the Edinburgh Fringe. Get the X7 bus or train from Dunbar – if by train, consider this via the Station Bar! This bar is a micropub just outside Dunbar Station, and is a fantastic joint to visit before or after your trip. The X7 bus takes around 1 hour to drop you off at Princes Street in Edinburgh, and is a great way to appreciate the local scenary – the trains are frequent and take around 30 minutes. The Fringe is an annual event in August, and is the world’s largest performance arts festival, with free street shows, making them open and accessible to all, as well as ticketed events covering Cabaret and Variety, Childrens Shows, Comedy, Dance, Circus, Music, Opera and Theatre. Street performers do rely on donations – so please be generous – they truly deserve it! Then, in addition to the festival itself, there is the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo – www.edintattoo.co.uk – a must see if you are here for a visit between the 1st and 24th of August (not on Sundays)
